MARBLES Pupil’s Book includes a two-page Map of the Book and an eight-page Welcome Unit.
Each of the eight ten-page main units contains:
- A topic and Vocabulary presentation and practice spread with video
- Two pages with presentation and practice of two Language points
- A Phonics page to present and practise a key sound through a chant and a song with video
- A Value page with a message related to the unit topic, which develops aspects of Learning for life such as Global learning or Social and emotional learning (SEL).
- Odd-numbered units: These include an engaging Our world page with real-life content and video related to the unit topic with a message that develops aspects of Social and emotional learning (SEL). A Listening and Speaking skills page is also included with real-world contexts, illustrated with photo and pictures, and a role play with visual support.
- Even-numbered units: These include a page with CLIL material related to the unit topic. An episode of the Whatsit and friends! story with animated video is also included.
- An Imagine, create and play page with activities promoting imagination, creativity and collaboration as pupils create their unit project and play
- A Review page for consolidation and self-assessment
MARBLES Activity Book includes a two-page Welcome Unit and eight eight-page main units.
Each main unit contains:
- A page to practise the Vocabulary presented in the Pupil’s Book
- Two pages to practise the Language points presented in the Pupil’s Book
- A spelling page to practise the Phonics presented in the Pupil’s Book
- A page to extend the Our world and CLIL topics presented in the Pupil’s Book
- A page with activities to reinforce the Value presented in the Pupil’s Book
- A page with a gentle introduction to Writing practice with a different text type per unit
- My Marbles file self-assessment page for children to reflect on their performance in each unit
The back of the book also includes:
- Three Reviews to consolidate learning after every three units
- Eight pages of Projects, one for each unit, fostering creativity and collaboration
MARBLES Teacher’s Book is easy to use and gives step-by-step teaching notes that help deliver a comprehensive lesson.
A two-page Map of the Book details the contents for the course, and a comprehensive Introduction outlines the course approach, print and digital components and a tour of a unit.
Each unit starts with a Unit objectives box to help with your overall planning as well as a reproduction of the Pupil’s Book opening spread, which is used in both Lessons 1 and 2.
A Lesson objectives box at the start of each lesson gives you more detailed guidance for your planning.
The teaching notes for each lesson start with a Warmer activity. This is an opportunity for the children to display their prior knowledge of the topic or to revise from previous lessons.
Full teaching notes with answer keys and audio and video scripts are included, as well as notes for the Review pages in the Activity Book.
The Ending the lesson activity consolidates what the children have learned. Extra activities give ideas for any spare time in the lesson or for fast finishers. These include both Reinforcement activities and Extension activities.
